English Learners
Schools with English Learners are partnering with JBHM Education Group for job-embedded mentoring that helps teachers overcome the language barriers that separate them from students. Fluency in a student's language is not essential for a teacher to be effective. Using multi-modal instructional strategies and an understanding of the student's culture, the teacher can plan lessons that make language comprehensible, helping the child build the academic vocabulary and confidence needed to succeed. EL specialists model these skills for teachers, supporting them in taking command of their EL students' learning needs.
